2020 mini-con cancelled
but we’ll be back in 2021!
We are sorry to announce that the 2020 Bloody Words mini-/Bony Blithe award gala has, alas, succumbed to the plague. Yes, we have to cancel the May 22 event. But fear not, we’ll be back next year.
If you would like us to transfer your registration to next year’s mini-con – to be held at the High Park Club on Friday, May 28, 2021 – that would be great. Also, that way, even if we are forced to raise the price of registration in 2021 (the venue, lunch, and dinner may cost more to make up for the club’s and caterer’s losses this year), your current 2020 $75 registration fee will be locked in.
We still plan to announce the 2020 shortlist by email and on our FB page and the BB Website on Monday, April 13, so watch for that.
And no nasty virus can keep our Bony Blithe down completely. We’ll be announcing the 2020 winner on Friday, May 22 (just as we would have in person at the mini-con), again online and by email. The 2020 winner will receive her or his plaque and cheque at the 2021 mini-con alongside the winner of the 2021 competition.
We’re also gearing up to accept ebooks along with print books for the 2021 Bony Blithe award, so those of you who are authors, keep writing. Submission rules for the 2021 award will be sent out and posted in the late summer.
So save Friday, May 28, 2021, for the 2021 Bloody Words mini-con/Bony Blithe award gala, and meanwhile, stay healthy, stay sane, and keep reading and writing about crime, glorious crime.
